As you know, the Tree Charter is seeding a movement that both accepts and repays the debt owed to trees and woods. A society where people and trees are stronger together, leaning on each other and keeping each other upright too. This petition and the protections it could bring could be the start to bringing the Tree Charter to life and in giving our ancients the future they deserve. A long time woodland defender, David Dickinson, has independently created a gov.uk petition which puts this in our grasp. After all, a country that cares for its future respects its past. If the law can’t back that, what will?
