Fraser BradburyI started with Forest Enterprise in 1993 with the Wildlife ranger team before taking a full time post in 1995. Over the next 25 years I worked at Westonbirt before taking my first Foresters role at Savernake Forest. In 2015 I moved to the private sector where I am now head of Conservation and Forestry. I manage a number of clients alongside this role, and have successfully set up a local cluster group. Through this I have designed and implemented a highly successful deer control model that is bringing down deer impacts across the group, helped set up and support a local sawmill adding value to low grade logs, and identified a market for deep rooting plug plants, going on to set up and managed a forest nursery at Westacre to meet the growing demand for plants. I have been interested in and studied irregular forest systems for the last 20 years and have been converting the cluster groups woodlands to irregular closer to nature systems for the last 12 years. I have extensive experience in woodpasture restoration, creation, ancient woodland restoration and ancient tree management, both within the public and private sector. I hold a HND in Forestry and a BSc in Ecology and am a member of CIEEM and a Professional member of the Arb association. |
